Monthly Leadership Endurance Round Tables

For Founders, CEOs and leaders of small organizations who want to knock out the challenges that are keeping them up at night.

We host these sessions on the 3rd Wednesday of
each month 12:00-12:45pm Eastern.

Leadership is an endurance sport without a finish line.

We need to be intentional in our plans and actions to sustain high performance.

Four challenges often show up:

  • Our job is to lead ourselves and others, so we need to ensure we’re taking care of ourselves as the “athlete” and not just focusing on our “coach” role.

  • We treat leadership as a sprint and don’t prioritize time for planning, rest, and reflection.

  • When we don’t have time for strategy and planning, we miss the signals that circumstances are changing and our approach needs to shift.

  • The needs and expectations of our teams and organizations are continuing to shift, and we need to be prepared for how we can continue to create environments where people can thrive and do their best work.

This interactive roundtable event is an opportunity to find real-time solutions to the challenges of being a leader in an environment where you don’t know where the finish line is, and the parameters of the race keep changing.

Here’s what you’ll get:

  • Alternating focused sessions on you as the “athlete” and you as the “coach”

  • Safe space to discuss the challenges you are facing and an opportunity to learn from each other

  • Opportunity to meet new colleagues who are also committed to being able to go the distance in a healthy way

Looking forward to seeing you each month.

Meet Melissa Carson

After 20 years working in corporate HR, Melissa Carson noticed a pattern:

- Intentional leadership and powerful people strategies made a business stronger from top to bottom

- Leadership focused on how it's always been done and not optimizing for employee strengths led to poor employee experiences—and missed opportunities

Melissa founded Canopy Strategies because she knows how to help business owners and leaders like you orient yourself and your organization around better people strategies.

Melissa helps clients zoom out above the canopy so they can clearly see where they want to go and the best way to get there. That clarity of vision allows for focused action.

She is a certified coach (ACC level) through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and holds SHRM and HRCI certifications.

She has had the opportunity to work on talent challenges across consulting, outsourcing, software, and managed services teams in global, corporate environments. In addition to her corporate experiences, she has served as a board member at a non-profit, leveraging her experience in leading organizations as they focused on their growth agenda and provides people advisory support to local non-profits.
